Villas and hotels in Vourvourou

Vourvourou is a bay on the north-east of Sithonia scattered with nine small islands, of which Diaporos is the largest, and the water between them is shallow, sheltered and the colour of a swimming pool. It is where the boats come in: small motorboats rented by the hour without a licence, which is how most people spend at least one day here, going from cove to cove around Diaporos with a picnic.

The village is spread along the bay among pines: villas, a few hotels, tavernas on the water and the boat rental jetties. Karydi beach at the east end is white sand and rock in turquoise water, one of the most photographed in Halkidiki; Livari lagoon and the long beach of Fava are next to it. Ormos Panagias, five minutes north, has the boat cruise along Mount Athos.

Villas are among the pines along the bay and on the slopes above it, many with a view over the islands. Thessaloniki airport is an hour and a quarter.
