Hotels in Possidi

Possidi (often spelled Posidi) is the cape at the south-west of Kassandra, and its beach is the one people drive across the peninsula for: a long sandbar that runs out into the sea past the lighthouse, with water on both sides, shallow and turquoise, and a temple of Poseidon in the dunes behind it. The village itself is small, a few tavernas and hotels above the beach, and the settlement of Kalandra with its church and cafés is three kilometres inland.

The beach near the village is organised, with sunbeds and a beach bar; the sandbar and the cape are open, and the further you walk the fewer people there are. The west coast is the sunset side, facing Mount Olympus. Fourka and Siviri are fifteen minutes north, Nea Skioni fifteen minutes south, and Pefkochori and the east coast twenty minutes across.

Villas are in Possidi, Kalandra and on the slopes between, many with a pool and a view of the cape. Thessaloniki airport is an hour and a quarter. Possidi suits people who put the beach first and want a village rather than a resort. Ask us for a shortlist with your dates.
