Hotels in Nea Skioni

Nea Skioni is the fishing village at the bottom of Kassandra’s west coast, the last real village before the tip of the peninsula. It has a harbour with boats that still go out, a long beach of sand and small pebbles running north towards Possidi, tavernas on the front where the fish is that morning’s, and none of the noise of the east coast. Ancient Skione, one of the oldest cities in Halkidiki, stood on the hill above it.

The beach is organised in the village with sunbeds and quiet beyond it; the water is the warm western gulf, calm in the morning, facing the sunset. Evenings are the harbour front. Possidi and its cape are fifteen minutes, Paliouri and Chrousso beach on the other coast twenty, Pefkochori twenty-five. Loutra, the hot springs of Agia Paraskevi, are ten minutes south.

Villas are in the village and on the slopes above it, several with pools and sea views to Olympus. Thessaloniki airport is an hour and twenty minutes. Nea Skioni suits families and couples who want fish, a harbour and a quiet beach. Ask us for a shortlist with your dates.
